Nearly Done

My sample collection is nearly done! I've made quite a lot of clothes the last few weeks, and I'm excited to start taking photos and posting them for sale!

There are few finishing steps I still need to take. Some of the patterns need to be tweaked. Some buttons still need to be sewn on. A couple pieces I put aside to finish later because I'd made a mistake sewing. Other than that though, I have a pretty complete collection that I'm very proud of.

It was quite difficult to figure out which pieces to make in which fabrics and which sizes. While I ordered a lot of fabric, it wasn't enough to make multiples of most things. I had to plan out each fabric carefully to make sure I'd have a good variety of sizes, colors and fabrics in the completed selection. I made so many charts and lists to try to visualize it, and I still couldn't fully wrap my brain around it. Eventually I just decided to start cutting and hope it would all work out. I can always order more fabric, but I think I've done a good job of creating a full variety of my collection. Every piece is represented in multiple fabrics and sizes. Some designs have only 2, but some have as many as 8. It's a good sampling, I think.

The only thing I didn't do was make enough of the clothes my own size. I thought I was being good, making all the sizes, and representing everyone, not just myself. But I forgot that I'm the one modeling these clothes for photos. So they have to fit me. So, I guess I will be getting an update to my own wardrobe! I need to be wearing my own clothes more often anyway!
