Fabric!

I ordered more fabric!

They were having a spring sale, and I've been needing/meaning to get more fabric for about a month now, so I finally placed my order. I was a bit rushed, so I hope I got what I needed!

My first fabric order in January was a really big mix of all different types and not many yards of each; I was experimenting with the fabrics and my patterns to see what I liked best. And I'm so glad I did that. Many of the fabrics were wonderful and perfect for what I needed, but some were not so great. And then some of them were quite lovely but unnecessary for the collection.

I narrowed my choices down, and ended up getting quite a lot more of the linens, the navy knit print, and the mesh, plus a few yards each of some basic knits and twills. I would have gotten even more if they hadn't been sold out of some of my favorite fabrics, mostly knits. But hopefully those will be back in stock soon so I can stock up on those styles!

The plan for this new batch of fabric is to produce a bigger sampling. My goal is to attend a market show in South Florida at the end of April, and I want to make sure I have enough pieces of each design to accurately represent my collection. Originally I was going to have only 1 or 2 of each design and a random sampling of sizes. Now, I'd like to make sure each design is represented in each color/fabric option, and I don't care as much about the sizes as long as I can show that I do in fact have 3 available sizes.

So, I've got sewing work to do! While I await the arrival of my new fabric, I've got a lot of boring projects to complete for the business side of things, like organizing my current samples, creating line sheets, hiring an accountant, hiring someone to do marketing, and taking product photos for the website. I've been working these things for a while now, but they are so slow-going compared to the fun sewing projects. Hopefully I can get a lot of that work done and be ready to cut into that fabric as soon as it gets here!
